About Jenabah
My name is Jennifer Giacomelli, but many people call me Jenabah.
I am a mother, a dance instructor/performer as well as a licensed massage therapist, encouraging balance in the lives of others through the art of movement and touch.
Decades of studying and teaching dance have expanded both my knowledge and my understanding of the body. It became clear that mindfulness is vital to developing both physical and emotional harmony, fueling my interest in the healing arts.
In 1997, I formalized this interest through 1000 hours of training, there by receiving certification from the nationally accredited Desert Institute of the Healing Arts, in Tucson, AZ.
Following my initial education, I developed my skills for 5 years at the world renowned resort/spa, Miraval: Life in Balance, Home of the Hot Stone Massage.
Further explorations and training, led me to Thailand in 2000 where I lived and studied for 3 months, earning certification in “Nuad Bo-Rarn” (Thai massage) from ITM (International Training Massage).
In 2003, I moved back to Michigan to foster my family and continue my career in dance and massage. My husband and I opened the doors of the Tree of Life Cultural Arts Studio in 2006. For 10 years, we provided a unique community center for children and adults. Tree of Life offered a place to learn about movement, dance and music from different cultures around the world. In addition to our beautiful dance facility, Tree of Life provided a space to offer various massage modalities.
During this time, I spent 8 years instructing at the Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy, Teaching up-and-coming therapists Pre-natal Massage, Aromatherapy, Hydrotherapy, Table Thai and Thai Massage.
I have dedicated much of my time developing a massage technique that incorporates thai massage, ashiatsu, and myofascial release with aerial arts. This new modality, known as “Airapella Bodywork”, has led me to new innovation within my massage practice.
In 2016, I decided to devote more of my time to my massage clients and retire from dancing every day, which led me to open my new practice,
“Body Thyme Massage.”
My combination of training, experience and intuition bring forth a unique healing experience. Through my services, I am able to provide complete balance through individualized touch.
