Relax, Restore, Revive

Experience different modalities of bodywork
that are specific to your needs.

Airapella Bodywork

This massage is designed for the receiver who prefers very deep pressure.  Airapella Bodywork is an original modality that I personally have been developing since 2015.  It combines elements of Ashiatsu, Thai Massage, Myofascial Release and Aerial Arts. The therapist can achieve significant pressure by using their body weight and working from many different angles.  Strands of silk are suspended from above, allowing the therapist to gracefully entwine and suspend themselves. This enables the execution of broad, deep manipulations with their hands and feet.  Compressions and myofascial techniques are applied with the soles of the feet to soften and lengthen large muscle groups, while the toes and heels are used on specific pressure points in smaller areas and attachment sites.  This innovative approach is ideal for breaking down adhesions and scar tissue and is sure to leave you feeling lengthened and loose!!! Deep Tissue Massage

Applied with moderate or deep pressure, the primary goal of Deep Tissue Massage is to reduce pain and discomfort while improving the body’s ability to heal itself. It is used to break down scar tissue and decreases muscle “knots” or adhesions that can cause pain and inflammation, disrupt circulation, and limits range of motion. Deep Tissue Massage focuses on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). This massage is not only relaxing but it also helps to lengthen and release tense muscles.

Deep Tissue Massage will help to lengthen and release tense muscles while targeting a specific problem, such as chronic muscle pain, injury rehabilitation, and many other conditions.

Hot Stone Massage

Although stones have been used for many years as an adjunct to bodywork, their use was formalized in 1993 by Mary Nelson-Hannigan of Tucson, Arizona. Nelson-Hannigan developed a form of massage using a system of 54 hot stones, which she coined ‘LaStone Therapy’. This specialty, Swedish Massage, utilizes warm oils and heated basalt stones as an extension of the therapist’s hands. The stones are applied to the body in various locations to bring about the relief of stiff and sore muscles, as well as to help stimulate energy flow. Combining heat with the pressure of the strokes helps to alleviate both chronic and acute problems, deeply relaxing and nurturing the body.

*While working at Miraval Resort & Spa, the home of Hot Stone Massage,  I proudly received certification in Mary Nelson-Hannigan’s methods in 1997.

Prenatal Massage

Massage during pregnancy is purely therapeutic and can help to support the physiological,  structural, and emotional well-being of both mother and baby.  Prenatal Massage may relieve many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches, and swelling. In addition, it often reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, and helps relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes. Most importantly, Prenatal Massage is relaxing and can simply help the mother-to-be feel comfortable.

Sports Massage

This modality is designed to address sport-specific musculature issues and is customized for each client while focusing on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements. It combines a series of specific massage techniques: trigger point therapy, myofascial release (including Airapella Bodywork), cross fiber friction, positional release, and PNF/passive stretches. The purpose of a Sports Massage is to prepare an athlete for peak performance while promoting flexibility and healthy muscle tone. It can also help to reduce fatigue, relieve swelling, and minimize muscle tension. Sports Massage can help prevent injuries that so often inhibit performance and achievement, whether a person is an athlete or a casual jogger.

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is the most common and well-known type of massage in the West. For a first massage, this is a perfect place to start. One of the primary goals of this full body massage is to relax the body and mind. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long, gliding strokes toward the heart. The specific strokes and manipulations of Swedish Massage are exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins and improving circulation. Swedish Massage promotes relaxation and leaves you with a feeling of well-being and body awareness.

Thai Yoga Massage

After living and studying in Chaing Mai, Thailand for three months, I received certification in 2001 in an ancient healing art form called Nuad Bo Rarn.  In the States, this tradition is referred to as  “Thai Massage” or “Thai Yoga Massage”.  Thai Massage is performed on a mat with the receiver fully clothed. It incorporates gentle rocking, deep stretching, and rhythmic compressions to create a unique therapeutic massage experience. Benefits are similar to those of yoga practice, focusing on the large muscle groups and lengthening the entire body. This interactive form of bodywork encourages client relaxation while the practitioner implements the movements. When receiving this massage, it is essential to wear comfortable clothing. In Thailand, this treatment is often referred to as “Yoga for the Lazy Person.”

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the practice of using natural oils extracted from flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of a plant to enhance psychological and physical well-being. The aroma from these ‘essential’ oils, when inhaled, is widely believed to stimulate brain function.  Essential oils can also be absorbed through the skin, then traveling through the bloodstream to promote whole-body healing.  As a form of alternative medicine, aromatherapy is gaining notable momentum. It is used for a variety of applications, including pain relief, mood enhancement, and increased cognitive function.

The use of Young Living essential oils (therapeutic grade) can be added to any massage for $10.00.

Additionally,  a sample bottle of oil is included to take home.

What My Clients Say

Pete N

Jen is a highly professional, intuitive, and knowledgeable therapist. I’ve been her client for more than five years and can give her my highest recommendation.

Deborah O

Jen gives a restorative massage that rejoins soul with body. Our 40's-year-old "children" who live in California all say she is the best they have experienced. They need specific athletic issues addressed; I just need standard deep tissue.

Brian M

Jen has been providing me massage therapy to address a disc issue and its resultant sciatic nerve pain this fall. She is very knowledgeable about the anatomy and mechanics of motion, and exceptionally skilled at working through pain and tightness from different directions. I have improved steadily under her care, and will continue to seek her therapeutic massage even when I am back in regular "work-out" mode on my bike and in the pool.

Carrie B

Jenn gives by far the best massage ever. She is so experienced and knowledgable, I always trust that she will give my body exactly what it needs. She is strong and has the best techniques. When I'm thinking of treating myself to a massage, I can't bring myself to go anywhere else since I know it won't be as good.

Rachael W

I've been seeing Jen for the past 5-6 years and I love her. There are so many things I appreciate, from her warm welcome to the beautiful surroundings to the responsive therapy. Jen has an excellent understanding of anatomy, so she has this innate ability to find and work out problem areas. Her deep tissue and Thai massages are both amazing. Make an appointment with her--you won't regret it!

Jason S

I would recommend anyone to go see Jen for therapeutic massage...she is very knowledgeable and very in tune with her clients...I would see her once a week if I could.
